I don't want to get rid of them. I am really not happy about it. But I know that unless my BF starts sending money to me (he is deployed to Egypt) then I can't afford all three anymore.

welcome back
It is a tough decision ...Possibly soon, I'm going to have to make a similar one; minus the BF of course.
My heart goes out to you.

place an add in the classifieds on this forum. maybe once you re home them you can get a couple of fish that do not need as much attention as Puffers do. Maybe some Livebearers or a very small Cichlid like some Multis or something like that.

Umm... This may be a dumb question but when I moved Poofer to the smaller tank he seemed fine. But I have noticed in the past few days that he stays on one side of the tank. I have the filter on one side of the tank (the side he stays one) and a volcano on the other. Could there be too much water movement for him?
Shark Bait and Crush are doing fine in the 10g. They seemed a bit depressed the first two days. I just assume it was because they missed Poofer (Am I wrong?). They are swimming and seem happy now.
All three have bright colors, no stress lines. Though I have noticed when Shark Bait gets lonely his tummy turns black, but as soon as I am near the tank at all it disappears and he will follow me around.
I have stuck to the feedings once a day and water changes twice a day. The parameters are good. No ammonia!

Posted an ad in the classifieds on here...

I don't know if I did it right or if anyone will take the boys. What do I do if no one wants them?

I don't know what you could do to be honest. Hopefully this will workout tho and you can find them a good home. If I had the room for a 75 gallon tank I would take the 3 of them myself...... but I just don't have room yet

Have you tried Craigslist?

No I have not tried craigslist... I'd rather them go to someone who knows what they are doing.
My BF said he doesn't want me to get rid of them forever so he is gonna talk to his dad (who works in an aquarium) to see if he wants to take them for me until he gets home and we get our own place.

There are many reputable fiskeepers on Craigslist. You just have to interview them well. Like adopting out a puppy. Maybe even ask to see the tank they have.

I think I found someone to take my boys until I can get everything settled and do it the right way!
And BF says when he gets home he is setting me up a whole room just for the boys in our new house! Bigger tank and everything they will need so that I don't have to worry whether or not they are being hurt.

What will they be in until then?
