I hate to say this .... but in almost every case when I've rehomed a puffer, or other fish for that matter, and the new owner says he will stay in touch, send me updates via email -- it never happens! I don't understand what is so hard about sending an email once in a while to say that everything is alright.

Only one person that I sold a puffer to stays in touch with me. I gave up my turgidus and the woman that took him has actually become a good friend. She sends me updates and tells me how he's doing, and I find that very comforting. If I know the puffer is doing well then I don't feel as badly about having to rehome him.

So sorry about that Don They sounded like they knew their stuff though right? Samson is probably doing well.

I sent the guy an email a few days ago, asking how samson was doing and wether he would be interested in selling me him back to me?, And I have not recieved a reply

But on a brighter note, I have decided I will be getting another Fahaka , I have even gone as far as to buy a tank, I saw it on kijiji while I was looking for something else, and the price was just to good to be true.
I just picked it up tonight. I am not setting this tank up for a long time, I have a house to move into. I also have to wait and see how Sophia's treatments go, BUT when I saw the price?.

Its a 120 Gal, with a stand I paid...rdy?......................................................$100 dollars...............and its only 2 years old

don't do it man!! it will be a drain on your budget too much.

If you already have the tank .. go with a cold water fish for now and forgo the heating costs.

That would make a wonderful planted tank with some temperate FW fish.

even better... go 1/2 fill with some neons and get a little advanced and go emersive plants. You can grow tomatoes out of a tank The options are endless.

As much as you want another fahaka, it will drain you. Until stability arrives again you can always convert that tank at a later date.

If I had that tank:

here are some shots of a house plant that I took clippings from and just tried them out in my guppy tank. I didn't care if they died, but they didn't. Now my little "experiment has taken off.

You have a family, a puffer will sap resources for now. Why not "Provide resources"? Grab some breeder nets, and see what works and what doesn't. You may actually be able to put a little additional home grown food on the table

Oh i am getting a fahaka LOL but like i said, it won't be till all is settled, and sophia is out of chemo, there's the finding me a job thing to LOL. I don't have all the equipment for it yet either I have to slowly gather it all.
but I am filling it half way and cycling it, as I have to put my current fish in it, then I have to move and cycle my 90 so they can go back into it.

Then I will store the 120 till I am rdy to set it up for a fahaka, So it won't be for a bit yet.

Its it cheaper running two bigger tanks then running a bunch of smaller ones, and there alot easier to maintain.
