does this species lose any markings as it gets older ?

She's so cute! I see some "horns" starting to develop Nicely done on the plumping myaj! I'm sure she'd be fatter if you gave her the food Just kidding, don't want any newbies reading this as a suggestion to overfeed their fish

Well, that's the thing.. I was feeding her like I assumed a fish her size would eat.. and apparently that wasn't nearly enough! Finally one day I just kept feeding her more and more to see how big her belly would get or when she'd lose interest...

I was giving her a night crawler.. or a handful of MTS snails.. Now she gets 1/2 to 3/4 of a "people shrimp", or two night crawlers and two handfuls of MTS, or 10 or so grasshoppers (though its colder now and they aren't out anymore).. and she's still hungry a few hours later.

But since I bumped up her feeding, she's started putting on weight big time, which is good. I was worried the dewormings weren't working.

Paris is looking really healthy!

My guy, now named Mojo, is a wee bit plumper in the belly but Paris looks so much better than she did- great job with her! Mojo maintains a flat belly and when accidentally overfed he gets a belly bulge for about 5 mins, then it looks flat again as his body fills out width-wise like he has grown love-handles (that's the best way I could think to describe it ). I have seen tons of photos of these guys and none (except the puffed ones) have the typical round belly we expect in a healthy puffer, so I'm assuming as long as the belly stays flat and they keep good girth (maintain those 'lovehandles' a bit) then they are at a healthy weight.

I hope you can stick that clown in with her, Mojo really likes his tankmates and he's given up on the hermies since he can't crack their shells. I think if you have LR in the tank the clown can escape Paris should she choose to be aggressive, but if she's well-fed hopefully she wouldn't pursue the clown for food...

I am going to try it.. that's partially why she isn't moved to the 75 yet, I wanted more rockwork so I'm waiting for another box of base rock to come in to the local store (should be in today).

I figure move the clown in first and let her learn the layout for a few days, then feed Paris well and move her, and keep an eye on things...

Oh good! I hope it works out as well as it has with Mojo. Good idea giving the clown some extra time to figure out some hiding spots.

I am very glad to see a really healthy burrfish.
Its one of the most difficult puffer species......
