The only thing I can think of doing would be to drill the hole larger & put a bigger bulkhead in there. Water changes are so easy to do with a Python, I wouldn't have even bothered with that hole. If the tank wasn't up to your expectations (12mm) you shouldn't have let it in the door. When you hear glass cracking--trust your senses--it's cracked. What online selling site did you buy this from?

I'd suggest rather than remove the thing and replace it, just place a small piece of THICK cut acrylic or glass over the hole instead, from the INSIDE, and silicone it good. The pressure itself will hold it really tightly that way.

How much did you pay for the tank?

Boy, when I moved mine.. went from my garage on the 1st floor, up 3 flights of stairs... With myself on the high end, and my mother (with a gimpy leg) and my girlfriend... Boy they were hurting by the end. At no point did anyone let it fall though.

I bought mine from a reputable friend at the LFS... Buying tanks from Craigslist and stuff, boy those guys can sell you real junk.. I gave away a 75g I bought for $100, it totally cracked down the middle, headed for a certain death.. Least I got to keep the stand.

If you got the money, I would scrap the tank and sell it as a reptile tank, try to get half your money back or so.. Now that you're armed with knowledge, go buy a good tank and get a good solid moving crew.

That 120g was WAY heavier than I expected, mine was made by AGA in the mid 90s, VERY thick glass, small scratches everywhere, but a very heavy duty tank.
