Sounds like they don't want to do brackish or marine. Ceylons are full marine so that won't work.

Although, to the original poster, brackish or marine aren't really much more complicated than freshwater. You just add the right amount of salt to the water. Its some added expense, but as long as its fish only and no corals, its not a tricky system.

There would also be that added cost of LR too. Assuming 1lb per gallon, and ~$5 per pound, that would be another $325 in rock alone.

Assuming you buy live rock. You don't HAVE to, although it is the easiest and most healthy way to keep a marine tank, at least that's what everyone says.

Can always go with base rock and seed it with a few small pieces of live rock and down the line it will all be "live".
