OK, I will try to figure out what might be getting over cleaned, and see if I can get the cloudiness to go away. Honestly, I feel stupid for not knowing I was doing something wrong, but I have been rinsing all three components of the Aqua Clear at once, not only that, but in tap water....

So I'll make the necessary adjustments so that doesn't happen any more. But I think it could be my problem. I just had no idea the chlorine could work so fast.

you can clean everything besides your bio media in tap water

I also rinse everything in tap water--just not all at once or every time.

in the aqua clear the biomax is the bio media, right?

also just out of curiosity, what is the best tap water dechlorination? I've been using API's (I like just using all my products from one company) Stress Coat (dechlorination and slime coat), Stress Zyme (for biological filtration enhancing?), and wasn't sure if ammo-lock could help in there.

API makes it sound like it's good to use all three for priming your water, but we all know they are just in it to sell a product. but I see a lot of people here using seachem's PRIME. is one better than the other?

All you need is a declorinator, don't bother with that other crap (especially Stress Zyme which does nothing but waste money and add dead bacteria to the bioload, which you don't want). I think most of use just use Prime, which IMO is the best. Do NOT use Ammo-Lock.
