She seems to be getting better. The whole is finally starting to heal up, but its slow going. I'm not sure whether to move her back into the display tank or keep her in the hospital until she's healed. She seems to be doing fine in there so I think i'll leave her in there until the hole closes some more. She lays on plants and things in her tank which I think probably irritate it and slow it more, and there's nothing in the hospital for her to irritate it on. I'm still not sure what the white patches are though. They aren't spreading but aren't going away. I've been using Pimafix on the chance its a fungus, but I'm not convinced is, and it doesn't seem to be getting better. Its not fuzzy or furry.

Well, I'm pleased to say that after a month in the bare hospital tank, the wound is almost completely closed. I definitely think part of the problem was she was constantly irritating the wound by laying on plants and things. In the bare tank, there's been nothing to irritate it so that, with the antibacterial, seem to have done the trick.

The only thing now is I can't seem to get rid of the white spot. Its gotten a little better, definitely isn't spreading, but hasn't gone away with steady treatment with Pimafix. Not sure what it is but doesn't appear to be a normal type of fungus. Anyone have any ideas on what it is or how to get rid of it?

You can also try swabbing some mechurochrome on it (or the new substitute out now).

I have been treating with vite's soaked food now for the last 5 months (as u suggested) and there are definate signs of healing (also looks like there wont be any scars as a few of the cuts have alsmost disapeared

Thought i would let you know, hopefully Bailey will also heal (scarless) ....

Thanks, I do remember poor Shermy's skin. Lil's doing much better, her wound is completely closed with very little scarring. I treated her with antibacterial and always use the Kent Zoe vitamins in her food, which I think helped. She's back in her regular home now, happy as a clam.
