RTR said that they may be OK with conspecifics, only if brought up together. You can not add more later. Still--keep a close eye on them. Most of the carnage is done at night.

they seem to have very different spines on their sides than mine have.

food habits of the nefastus:
"Of 31 C. nefastus in wich gut contents have were examined, 11 had more or less substantial amounts of fish fin rays, six had fish scales, three contained small pieces of fish flesh, six had small to moderate amounts of insects (terrestrial and aquatic), two had unidentified debris or detritus, one had numerous small, whole bivalves, and one had a large amout of sand and grit; seven had empty guts. The Latin name nefastus refers to the predominantly pterygophagous and lepidophagus habits of this species. (...) Perhaps the generally pterygophagous and lepidophagous feeding behaviour of C. nefastus was preceded by the evolution of an exceptionally aggressive intraspecific biting and fin-nipping behavior." if you should be able to come to hamburg/germany: we still have a lot of c. borneensis in our shops! just got some for a friend...
