the readings for the tank he is in now are
PH-7.5
AMM-0
NITRITE-0
NITRATE-0
sorry i confused you all there are these readings ok ?

How are you getting a nitrate reading of 0?

Those readings are fine but it always concerns me when I see 0 for nitrAte. There should be some trace of nitrAte.

I have a 2.5 gallon that mysteriously shows no nitrate at all, even lately when I have been intentionally neglectful of water changes because I believed the lack of nitrate was why the plants were growing so slowly despite appearing in perfect health.

i have tested the nitrate again but this time taking water from the bottom of the tank and the nitrate reads between 10 and 20 my eyes must be painted on

Are you using liquid reagents or paper test strips? The paper strips tend to be very inaccurate.

i am using liquid reagents the only other difference is that i took the first reading after doing a water change does that make a difference ?

Yes, water changes are the primary agent that removes nitrate in FW aquaria. Other than my 2.5, apparently.

well congrats on a good looking puffer. The eye looks exactly like Clooney's so I wouldn't worry and keep an eye on water perams as everyone suggests. More pics of him swimming in the nerw tank would be great

i would love to take some pics of him swimming but unfortunatley he likes to sit in the corner and not do much til the light go out soon as he swims i wil take pics

He's probably just getting a feel for his new home, and learning to trust you.
These are extremely intelligent creatures, so after being in such a horrid and stressful situation, it'll take a little bit of time, effort, and alot of love to bring this guy out of his shell. From the looks of things it will be worth it. You won't regret it that's for sure.
No worries, he'll be following you up and down the tank like a little puppydog begging for food before you know it.
He's lucky to have found a friend like you.

hes certainly going to get all the love and attention he needs for the rest of his life i am so pleased i could rescue this little guy
well not so little really he is about 11inch
