My puffer is doing worse
It looks like the skin is coming off and its swollen too.
I still have him in the main tank because I don't have another tank to use as quarantine and there's no room. Also yesterday the stores only had Marachin 2 for freshwater so the guy recommended doing Pimafix Melafix combo for the whole tank.

At least my puff is still eating. Also could you send me a link to a site that has info on this disease? Thanks.

I don't know of a link - but it is a gram negative bacteria called vibrio.

You can use the freshwater maracyn-2 - double the freshwater dose. You can treat the puffer in a bucket, clean empty litter bucket, rubbermaid, etc. This bacteria progesses fast and the longer you wait, the less chance of recovery.

Ok I have him in a bucket now. I did the reccomended treatment for the first day? It says starting day 2 to do half the amount. So tomorrow should I do half even though its a bath?

EDIT: Also how many bathes do I give him? One a day?

From the picture, it is definitely spreading. Did you take the dose that is for 10 gallons (if using freshwater tablets - twice the amount) and add it to 1 gallon of water. One hour duration?

Normally you dose daily. I would do the next dose in 14 - 20 hours - I would use the same dose as the first day as this is a BAD bacteria.

I would do daily baths for at least 10 days.

You can add vitamins to the antibiotic bath as well - helps boost immunity.

Yeah it said 2 tablets for every 10 gallons so i did 4 tablets. I have a small airstone in their too. He's been in their for half an hour and puffed once that I saw. Thank you for the help.

He died today.

This is a bad bacteria and can spread quickly.
