Sorry, I missed the post about the scars. Yeah, they come to us battered and bruised when wild caught. Bite marks are usually roundish scars. Line scars can be from brushing against something too hard, they're pretty fragile. Several of mine have both types of scars. If it doesn't appear to be a fresh wound, I wouldn't worry about it. They sometimes fade with time, too.

As far as sexing, the only sure-fire way to tell is the eye wrinkles. Males will have wrinkles or iridescent creases around and behind their eyes. Females don't.

Alright, thanks, Boxermom...! I just don't see any wrinkles behind any eyes.. Well maybe there are wrinkles behind Scar's eyes now that I come to think of it! But I just thought they were some kind of scars too. I'll take a look at Scar again:) The other fish may be females then. But that would be lucky enough wouldn't it, 3 females and 1 male. Can't complain about that...

I just thought Scar and the other little DP were way too small to show these signs of sex? But maybe they do that very early really then...

Hi again everyone! :)

As I told you earlier on I am trying to deworm my small DPs with Gel Tek. When I fed them the worms with medicine, the fish were quite slim. Then they ate a bit and weren't quite so slim but on the other hand also not as fat as I would like them to be. Then this morning, all of a sudden, they have very large bellies both of them!!?

Now I don't know whether to feed them or not? Is it the medicine that makes them fat somehow or have they just been able to eat something without my knowing? They behave normally.

They stay in a small tank with only a few RCS. Sometimes the female shrimp do carry eggs so maybe the DPs have been lucky enough to catch a lot of small shrimp...? Although I haven't noticed any shrimp babies lately...

Should I feed the DPs?

Feed them daily with the medicated food for at least 7 days. They may also be munching on the shrimp. :)

Hope the DPs don't explode then 8)
