FW for so long will certainly stunt a gsp, but so will sharing a tank with fish... a gsp needs 30 gallons to HIMSELF to grow properly, stunting is as much a response to dense hormones or other fish organics in the water as tank size... what volume water changes were you doing every week in the 29? If it was less than 50%, that is part of the problem, and with other fish, 80% weekly would be better in only a 29. Sadly they are very touchy fish to care for.
No matter how magnificent your successes or devastating your failures, the worlds' approximately 5 billion impoverished people could not possibly care less.

puffer gsp ?
Ok so i bought a hydrometer with a digital thermometer. I didn't have to buy it so i got a good one. I know some one said to get a refractormeter on eBay but i don't shop on eBay. Anyway i am not doing anything with it til i get some good advice from u. K, so i have a bag of premium marine salt mix. What do i do from here? It has directions on the bag but i know from reading this that you have to gradually get them use to it. Am i right? OK so please get back to me asap.
Thank You much
