Agree w/Dinsdale on this. GSPs, which should be sold as BW puffers, are mostly sold as FW. Why not take some pics & post them here, to definitely ID, BEFORE purchasing.

That is the "black reticulated".. it is colored black with gray lines

#1 Recticulated puffer
#2 Milk-spotted puffer
#2 may start out as high-end BW as juvies, #1 is a SW fish.

Hi,
Can you give me their scientific names or common names? I cant seem to find the in the puffer pedia... I saw the milkspoted puffers seem to chase the black ones in the store...

Arothron reticularis and Tetraodon patoca (sometimes Chelonodon patoca). I thought the milk spotted looked more like a takifugu though, but PP knows more than I do.

The second one looks like a takifugu to me too...

Both species are full marine Wahoosotto, that might be why you can't find them in the Pedia!

I definitely wouldn't keep these species together. I thought Takifugu at 1st too, till I checked Ebert's book.

Unfortunately the PufferPedia doesn't cover all types of puffers yet. Try Google.
