I changed the water. But my tap water is 12.5 so I think it will go up to 20 in couple of days.

If his stomach doesn't go down, should I use epsom salt soon?

He has got bloodworms, market prawns, clams, mussels and squid. Not only ghost shrimps...my ceylons hate veggies. And pre-feeding the ghost shrimps are the only way to get veggies into them.

right...i managed to get some epsom salts on friday last week (almost all pharmacy suppliers in my area have now de-listed this product, as aparently its too old fashioned and doesnt sell. i had to drive 30 miles to go the last jar i could find anywhere! :?

i have a 35 litre hospitol tank so i dosed 2 1/2 desert spoons (i dont have tablespoon so converted 2 desert=1 table). I used level table spoons, is this correct or should they be heaped?

There has beem some effect but unfortunately he is still bloated round his back end. I was thinking a week should be a long enough time for the med to take effect.

On the veggies front i also purchased some live river shrimp, and (with some difficulty) managed to get them eating veggies. I then tried feeding them to my puffers. Unfortnately smokey does not seem to get interested in them. (the other 2 in my main tank loved them once they got used to them jumping away...very cute  )

I was thinking of trying to hide food buried in piece of cucumber so they would have to bite through it and eat it to get to the meaty stuff...is that just a crazy idea? (anyone tell im getting desperate yet- lol)

Any further ideas how to help my gorgeous litlle smokey with his bloated tummy, i think he must be in pain and starving as i am hardly feeding him.

thanks for all your help

Katy

So his bloating HAS gone down a bit? Did you see any - ahem - other results?
I'd wait another couple of days, and keep up with the salts - I'm sure most creatures will go off their food if they're constipated.
Hope he gets better.
Pami.
