*sigh*
I'm so happy to see that I am not the only infected one.

Have you noticed that when you show your passion towards your puffs to people who don't have puffs, that they look funny at you?
Almost like they are thinking ... Are you mad?!

Yesterday i was told
"i don't get fish as pets, they don't give any reciprocate attention like cats and dogs do"
I mean ... heloo! It's a whole different species!
And they do give attention.

They most definately do! The only fish I own for the most part are ones that actually interact and show interest in people. Rainbowfish, goldfish, puffers and some cichlids.

People come to our house and roll their eyes at all my tanks, but then they spend half the time kneeling in front of them saying "look at this one! And this one! And what's that one doing?". And their kids.. well, lets just say I've been told multiple times that children that are normally terrors are so much better behaved at my house because they spend the entire time going from tank to tank and behaving themselves in the hopes of getting to feed some of the fish.

Sadly, my calico ryunkin with swim bladder problems gets the most attention, but she's not TOO bad off so I guess I can't feel too bad. She can swim fine, until she gets excited and then looses control and starts doing flips. Looks goofy as all heck but doesn't really seem to bother her.

mmm ... you see, that is where we are different.
Apart from the fact that my tanks are in bedroom, and I don't like people going into my private space, I don't like it when people go near my fish tanks. Or even kids! That's worse!

They all have this thing of tapping on the glass hoping to get a reaction from the fish, and that is the point of frustration for me.

I don't like it when people stress out my pets.

so, for every time you tap on the glass, I put your head a cookie tin and bang on it with a wooden spoon. lol

oh, i sound sooo cruel. lol

LOL! Folks who have not known me for long are more than a bit freaked to learn how many tanks I run. And sometimes more so to learn that I have many more in storage. The few puffers that I have now are fascinating to them.

Well, I suppose if any of my fish were more of the "nervous" type, I wouldn't let people stick their faces up to the glass like that.. but all my fish just get right back in their faces and do the "feed me wiggle". So it cant' be bothering them too much!

My fahaka is strangely peculiar with meeting new people. Most people he likes and begs from. Some others he finds too grotesquely ugly (or something) and flees to a hiding spot within the tank in genuine fear and/or disgust.
