Are there any other fish in the tank with it? To me it looks like someone took a chop out of him and its healing up, but its hard to tell...

For starters, while we are trying to figure this out, make sure the fish is in BW & treat with Melafix.

the fish is in freshwater but tomarrow im settin up a tank for them and im gonna slowly change it to brakish water

I still cannot tell if the injury is just blurry in the picture or if it might have some fungus growth as well. If fungus is present, I'd add Pimafix in addition to Melafix. I'd also be interested in the water parameters of the current tank.

Is the tank cycled? What are the water parameters? Make sure the new tank is cycled properly (or use Bio-spira) before moving them. Please answer the questions about who "they" are.

there is 2 puffers in there and im getting both of them but only1 has the thing growing on it

I don't understand, you don't have this fish in your posession? I certainly wouldn't purchase this fish in the condition it's in. If you don't have the puffer/s yet, be sure to read in The Library here about them & do a search for even more info.

ok the person has a 55 gallon tank with a few fish and after he found out they were brakishwater he told me to get an aquarium and i could have them (the 2 greenspotted puffers) so im gonna set the aquarium up tomarrow after i get the standed finished and im gonna put it in there, the fish that had the growth on it died this morning.

Not surprised it died. It looked pretty bad. Make sure to cycle the tank. Read info on cycling & on the GSP in our Library.

ok somethin i saw today taht amazed me, the tank that the puffer is in now has an oscar in it. well teh oscar, that is alot bigger than this 1.5" puffer, had half of a gold fish hanging out of its mouth and the putter started bittin off the gorlfish and messed up the oscars lip. waht should be done to the oscar, its lip looks pretty messed up

GSPs are such spunky little creatures!
For the Oscar, keep the tank clean, the water pristine, and maybe add some Melafix to help the wound heal. Most important, separate him from the evil GSP!
