only thing I would change is add a background.

I'm working on the background... I'm somewhat of a background rebel; I've never added one to one of my tanks before, so I will have to take things slowly.

You don't run around Lfs and through paint on them. Go with black and don't let them fool you, one guy cut me some background a while back , tried to charge me $15 for it. Tank looks awesome, IM thinking of using black sand myself in a future dwarf seahorse tank so tell me how it goes. As for fish how many are going to be in their i think i missed exactly what you hope to have in their. As for live plants just make sure they aren't affected by brackish water, or low light.

Those ammonia alerts... they're cool gadgets. It would be more useful to me if they could make something that detected nitrate instead, though.

Love the tank and Hindenburg is a great name for your puff. Let hope he doesn't spontaneously combust though.

As far as backgrounds, if your unsure experimenting can get expensive. I went to my local dollar store and bought sheets of bristol board, 50cents a 30 x 40 inch sheet. It's not waterproof of course but it does give you an opportunity to try out colours for awhile with out the expense. If you want patterns or scenes, I'm gonna let my two little girls paint backgrounds for a couple of tanks and see what it looks like.

Liz, I think ammonia is more important personally, but that would be very cool.
Pufferoni, what a cute idea! Remeber though that if they are trying to paint an actual picture, you have to do the foreground first when painting the reverse view pane of glass.

Rusty- Well.... I don't splash paint on them all of the time... but if I'm in a bad mood I've been known to 'TP' entire stores with aquarium background... j/k...

Thanks for the compliments on my tank! I think it will look very nice once I add those finishing touches to it. I'll be sure to share how the black sand works out for me.

Pufferoni- I'm glad you like my puffer's name.. hehe... When I told my husband what I decided to name the puff he rolled his eyes at me ans muttered something about 'poor creature...'

I have a lot of different types of bristol board and cardstock etc. from when I was in school for Graphic Design. I think I'll try that and see what I like. I love your idea of having your daughters paint backgrounds; how cute!

LOL Awesome!!!!!, i think im going to try that. ( does that make you an accomplice.lol Pufferoni, that is awesome, im making some backrounds myself with waterproof concrete.
