Did your SAP eventually search out the snails and start eating them or did you have to encourage him with the tweezer-dangling method or anything similar? Just wondering as I have just acquired two (one to go to my sister once I know they are all eating ok) today and they are going nuts at the side of the tank, (despite loads of interesting things for them to explore  ). They did take a short look at a snail I put on the side of the tank they are in love with at the mo... but decided not to attempt eating.. (the snail has escaped somewhere now). They did eat a bit of bloodworm later on though...

i hadn't fed him when i went to the lfs for some plants and got some snails too, i just dropped them in, he followed one right the way down then attacked it as soon as it hit the bottom. He swam around another for a bit then decided to leave it, but there were 5 or 6 i dropped in, and i aint seen any since, even with a thorough investigation, so i'm guessing he just hunted them when he was hungry.

And now he's learned to beg for food lol, never used to be bothere when i was about the tank until he saw bloodworms, now as soon as i go near the tank, even when it's not feeding time, he swims to the front, and earlier as soon as i lifted the top he came right up to me and waited heh.

I'm falling in love!! :D

Excellent, cool, thanks for the reply. I'll try feeding 'em again today. They should be hungry and want some snail goodness. And hopefully they will be as keen as your SAP :)
