Converting to Brackish

I have three 3gallon jugs I use for water changes on my 33g BW GSP tank. I raised the salinity by adding 1 tablespoon of Instant Ocean marine salt to the jugs with each water change. It's been really slow and gradual. Right now I'm up to 9 tablespoons of salt in each jug and that give me an SG of 1.010 (measured with a refractometer).

Over the next couple months I'll be raising the SG to 1.020 so I can start using a skimmer. I'll just add one more tablespoon to the jugs each week until I'm there, measuring along the way so I know how fast it's going up, and when to stop.

I find this the best way to raise SG if you aren't in a rush to hit a specific target SG.

Well gonna test the water once i have achieved the SG that i aim for. If all seems good i wont need to cycle the tank again.
