Our LFSes sell it for $15-18.

I see it for about 12 bucks for the smaller one (treats 29 gallons I believe) and about 24 bucks for the larger one which is like 4 times the size.

I use it for every tank I setup and it works like a dream!

I guess 50$ canadian is what I'd be looking at to import it.

Bio-Spira is great but ammonia and a bit of patience only costs about a dollar or so...

Yes, exactly. A little bit of time and planning completely negates the need for bio-spira. I consider it to be a convienience or emergency bacterial colony.

If it were available locally, i would use it, but I won't ever import it.

I've imported it several times, and likely will again. I've used it in times that I am transfering or moving tanks of my own, or setting up tanks for family members I know will run out and buy fish as soon as the tank is up. I love the stuff.

I had pretty good success with it, took about a week to cycle my tank. It definitely boosted it. I didn't religiously follow all the little safeguards like no using amquel and whatnot.

Exactly why it took a week. Why would you buy a perfectly good product that works fantastic & then not follow the directions? In addition, if it took a week to cycle the tank, then your fish are being forced to live thru a cycle, which can cause permanent damage to them!
