Well, he finally got fattened back up again with meal worms...and I got my nerve up enough. Did the tooth cutting just like on the video link you all sent me. I don't think I did a very good job, but they are definitely better than that were. Anyway, I just trimmed the top teeth. Is there a chance that the bottom teeth could need to be trimmed as well? Thanks again!!!

I'm glad he's gaining weight but please refrain from feeding mealworms to him. Their outer skin (chiton) is hard to digest & constipate the fish. Better to use earthworms. And be sure to feed lots or crunchy foods too, so his teeth won't need trimming again.

Uggg! Here I thought the harder she'll on the mealworms was a good thing!
Ok, so now he seems to be having even more trouble eating. I was very worried about having him out of water for too long while I tried to trim his teeth that they aren't terribly even. Is it worth the stress to do it again or wait a bit and then try again? Do top and bottom teeth need to be trimmed?
Was so scared to do it, now afraid I made it worse! Help!!!

Give him a week before trimming again. Yes, top & bottom should be trimmed. Could you post a pic? Did you tranq him?
Have you tried soaking foods in garlic?

We did tranquilize him with the stuff mentioned here. I will try to get a pic...I have tried before, but it seems he is camera shy. He is very interested in eating, just having trouble getting a hold on the food to eat it. Once he gets it, it is gone! . He had a whole skinny red worm this morning and would like more.
What should I give him for crunchy stuff? Had been giving him snail when he had less salinity. With the greater salinity, they die almost instantly, he doesn't see them move, so they don't get eaten. Same thing with crayfish. Are newly shed mealworms ok? We raise them and gut load....
