This confuses me
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181183049143? ... EBIDX%3AIT
The listing says CLASSICA MARINE ARAGONITE CORAL SAND REEF CICHLID MALAWI AQUARIUM TANK GRAVEL, the drop down menu lists 10kg 1mm coral sand, yet the image shows marine aragonite. @maccyg is this the stuff you have?

Either have a shallow bed at 1" or a DSB at 5". Anything in between is asking for trouble & needs to be THOROUGHLY stirred, weekly. I'm assuming this is SW with LR?

Ok sorry for hijacking the thread. I guess I'll pull some some of the sand out.

So is this the right stuff? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CLASSICA-MARI ... 6fd1b5804c If I get it ordered monday, it should be delivered wednesday, have the tank cleaned and sands swapped out by wednesday night, and maybe, just maybe I can pick up my puffer on friday.

Edit:
No need to worry about hijacking welch :) we all need help :)

Since I can't seem to find out if coral sand is aragonite, would this be ok?
http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co.uk/ ... 12011.html the grain size is 0.5mm to 1.5mm

EDIT:
Went for the red sea reef pink.

If it's a SW/reef tank, play sand is fine.

I've got about 3 inches of black sand & substrate mixed...is this ok to have in my tank? My fahaka puffer is 7 inches & is just now getting too big to bury himself to hunt. I also see everyone has light colored sand for their puffers...is the black sand I have safe? We've used black sand since we got him about 6 months ago & have had no issues other than its difficult to clean with a gravel vac sometimes

Just make sure you thoroughly stir every inch weekly. Or narrow it down to 1".
