Pig can't do "who me?". He's only mastered "Gloom, Where's My Dinner, B****?", "I'm Hungry, I Hate You", and "Happy Pink Pig Just Got Fed".
He learns fast though. He already views me as "Mummy, Actual Food Source", rather than "Mummy, the Provider".

Lol. Although isn't that the same thing in a puffers eyes?

mbu likes looking at the good looking puffster on the other side of the glass.
the SAPs like zooming around in the currrent.
the immaculate likes to try new "dying fish" positions to scare me.

Rotfl he's just trying to get you to take him out of the tank so he can escape!

I do wonder what puffers have thought when they've jumped out of aquariums. Probably something like 'freeeeddoommm!!... oh *****.'
My GSP paces a lot. Does they tend to settle down with age?

Pig does that, I think he's practising for when he becomes a big ferocious puffer
He looks ridiculous, like a mouldy water balloon.

My figure eight just patrols around or surfs the powerhead current, at lights out he wont sleep until all lights in the apartment are out, and when sleeping just floats around drifting with the current. My dps are usually cruising around for runaway blackworms that escaped the feeding cone, at lights out they curl into little balls and sleep in the plant leaves. Both swim towards me if they see me and beg for food lol.

Hunters hunt actively or rest with curled tails when napping in/under some shelter.
F-8s cruse all over, making sure no one else has found any food.
SAPs whiz in the front-glass current except first thing in the morning, when they have to check the plants very carefully for food. Periodically re-check the plants just in case they missed any snails at breakfast.
DPs helicopter around one or the other of the worm cones, follow a worm and catch it on the fly drifting downwards, or snap it up out of the water dish beneath the cone (some still escape and establish in the gravel - those only very rarely get caught when I'm watching).
Lurkers lurk, mostly with some cover, except the Palembang's puffer, which lurks in driftwood piles when not hungry, or pretends to be dead on top of the driftwood pile or beside it when hungry. Works hard at not being caught moving. Will let a ghost shrimp pick at it until in just the right position to be snapped up. If really hungry, it will move through a plant clump looking for food v-e-r-y v--e--r--y slowly - slower than a snail travels.
Puffers are a relatively small family of fish, but endlessly fascinating.

So far mine seem to be enjoying watching us, they don't like the dogs passing their tank though. And have came to me today looking for their dinner. Only had them two days though!

wow" they are very tame for such new fish!
Do you think they were traded in to your pet store by previous owners?

Puffers are rarely schoolers unless in large river main channels during the dry season or in sizable estuaries. They are very bright and intelligent and learn quickly for fish. IMHO & IME, they are rarely-to never barren-tank fish. If in properly decorated tanks, even singletons will be outgoing and curious if their tank is properly decorated and they will notice and learn their care-givers rapidly. Obviously the active hunters will be most out-going, but even the most cautious lurkers will recognize their keepers quicly in the right set-up.
These are not bare-tank fish IME.
