If you were to do a community tank, the only puffers I would come even close to trusting would either dwarfs or SAPs, and depending on personalities it would be a coin flip. Neither of those meet the 4 inch minimum you request either. Any SAP that is even close to 4", would be ancient, and they rarely even get close to that big in captivity.
Doing an SAP only tank is fun, but be prepared to spend the money on setting it up. Mine required lots of plants and cover to explore, as well as two power heads for a very strong current before they stopped glass surfing. Now they only do the glass surfing when it's feeding time, cause they've learned it by now. When it's close to food time they go to the side of the tank that I sit at to get my attention.
I have a 750 gp/h and 500 gp/hr power head in my 55g long tank. If your 55 is not a long, but a tall, I would not recommend it. They swim across the entire length of my tank for hours on end like a conveyor belt
