Lol I tried a net but mines are too fine, won't let sand through. This let's me sift through the sand and fits I between the deco. And also never let's its guard down!!! Lol

FYI
When I filled mine all the way my fahaka managed to spill water out of the tank by building waves. If the lid is water proof all the way it won't be a problem.

speaking of waves.... would the current of my out take making waves on the top of the tank be the cause of my fahaka being lazy at all?

Not sure how that would make a fish lazy.
I would say that regular feedings would make an intelligent fish lazy. They know the food will come, so they can just lay on the sand bed and be pretty.
Mind you thats just my unscientific mind at work

Lol I mean, I read that sometimes fahakas don't like the current so much. But yeah he do little effort to get his food too lol, he'll wait until the crayfish turns around most of the time; no taking the crayfish by the claws for him lol.

I think it's also is probably just the time of day that I get home and wake up too, cause he does swim and look around on and off during the day.
