She has some pythons and corn snakes, I dont really pay attention to that too much, I just enjoy playing with the mice. I don't know yet. I'm going to turn in all my current stock to my lfs when I move so I don't have to worry about any dieing. I hope to atleast get a few fish that get to a decent few inches in size. I just know of my corydoras atm. Sadly I won't be keeping a puffer this time until I can get a bigger tank. I would love to eventually own a fahaka or mbu. And I feel bad keeping my gsp in freshwater all this time. Any input on a lively stocklist would be appreciated. its a 55 gallon tank atm

You coyld only keep a fahaka in a 55 maybe 8 months if its a baby. They grow an inch a month but its suggested you start off with a permanent tank. But do as you will. i personaly think fish are evovled enougj for change but im not a scientist. Mbu is highly a conflicting opinion. They are big fellas. Bigger than you or i can imagine if you hadnt seen one in person. Ive only seen pics and vids and read horror stories.

As for snakes. Corn snakes are too active for me I'm too laid back. And good for you having a first hand experience on different life forms. Enjoy it its a luxury.

Ya, a fahaka or mbu for me is years down the road. once Im settled and have money to spare for a tank that huge.

Necessary, most certainly not, but it is a viable treat for a turtle. I fed my turtle live minnows before from a bait shop... I wasn't pleased with his sloppy killing technique, so after that all fish treats consisted of vitamin soaked prefrozen silversides. Frozen is safer and more humane. Live food can carry parasites. Goldfish should never be an option, they're kept in squalid conditions, can carry parasites and are way too fatty for a food. Would you eat big macs on a daily basis? It's up to the owner if live fish is an option or not... but be aware there are better options too. I've had my red-eared slider over 17 years.

I had a box turtle when i was in middle school. I kept it in my dressser. Lol i loved animals but didnt have a computer to look em up. Needless to say he didnt live to long. How sad i love turtles. Their so slow when you look at them but when you're not looking they're on the other side of the house. I walked him like a dog too, haha i was so dumb.

yeah, her 2 box turtles get crickets and carrots. the red ear get a mix of feeder fish and nightcrawlers.

As for what im going to try, this is a possible list of some candidates. This isn't what Im going to get, just a few choices that I've looked at. Going to do more indepth research on them later. Don't want them growing too big to live in a 55.
5 Amano Shrimp(Algae Eating Shrimp) 1.5in max
1 Gold Dojo Loach 4-6in max
1 Albino Rainbow Shark 5in max
1 Anableps 6in max
3 Agassizii Cory 3in max
1 Black Veil Angel 6in max(The 6in on the angels is measured from mouth to tip of tail)
9 X-Ray Pristella Tetra 2in max

Cool good luck with the rainbow. I have a few. Give them hiding places they need their privacy from one another. If you get multiple you will have one dominant shark eventually after a lot of chasing and harrassing has been done. Eventually rhey calm down but they chase one another now amd then. The shark will forever chase the tetras tho. Its comical.

I only plan on the 1 shark since they can grow to 5inches. Im planning the stocklist based on the gallons to inches for full grown. thats what the 5in max is, its the full grown recorded size.

Most loaches are social and should be kept in groups.

I;ve read that the dojo loaches can do just fine on there own. but like I said, the list right now is just possibilities. I'm going to keep looking and checking to see how they act and their own personal needs. I'm going to set this tank up to fit as many needs as I can.

I hope they get way more than that! #1 food found inside of dissected wild box turtles, are nightcrawlers. They love lots of red fruits & dark green leafy veggies.
