Dwarf puffers are true freshwater fish. We recommend 5g each and not to keep 2 makes together. The filtration of an edge is unlikely to cope with the bio-load of 2 dps.

Is it the smaller or larger Edge? 6G or 12G.

have you checked the sex of the two? The best would be 2 females if you had 1 male / 1 female monitor for aggression especially as they age, look for fin nips bite marks if you have 2 males return 1 and get a female or switch to two females.

Otherwise that 12 should be good just monitor water conditions and do weekly wcs

I would not trust the filtration to be enough to cope.

In my part of the country, both GSPs and F-8 puffers are housed in freshwater from the importer to the area wholesaler and also in the LFS. When I started in the hobby (50++ years ago), GSPs were generally kept in FW and rarely exceeded 2 1/2 inches.

Dwarf puffers are FW fish.

So I was thinking after alot of research, I need to move these guys to a bigger tank. I'm glad I came and researched so what I think im going to do is buy the 29 gallon biocube and start with a light saltwater content and adapt them over. What do you all think? That or just get a standard 29 gallon tank (much cheaper than the biocube). Thanks again!

does anyone knows how fast and big a GSP grows?like an inch a yr or?bcoz ive had mine for like a mnth plus nw and its grown abit,wanna knw more in detailed

Ok... so after much research, I have the standard green spotted puffers. I felt bad keeping them in the fluval edge (6gallon) for the past couple weeks, and yes I felt bad, so I went out and purchased a marineland 37 gallon cube tank with led. Pic to come soon of new setup. I have also started converting them slowly over to a brackish environment in the fluval before I put them in their new home. The new tank is cycling as we speak and the salinity is around 1.013ish. The little guys seem happy now but I am starting to notice they surf the tank glass a little bit and can't wait to get them into the new home!!!!!
