So apartment complex wants the carpet replaced and the company is paying for that to be done they came out today for an estimate. They also wound up cutting me a check for all of it and i am kinda shocked because I had roughly $200 invested with the tank and then the puffers were about $7 each at the LFS and i was shocked when the guy just cut me a check for $450. He has some concept that tropical fish like that are not easy to come by and wanted to cover extra in case i had to order them to be shipped. Guess the owner isn't a total moron unlike his employees.
really sucks still, however I wasn't expecting that much money so i know what i'll do with it. Put it into another tank since i already have everything for the 55gal.
I do like the advice about doing a GSP in the 55gal by himself/herself and then keep up with reading up on saltwater and i'll eventually make it into full marine in 6-8 months. I do miss my F8's though

+1.
Well... there is nothing left to keep moving, lets start with a new tank, and of course we are not going to forget those F8, and can't imagine how it feels but i encourage you to let it be... so, ¿2 tanks? two BW? it is the best decision!

I'm glad to hear that the owner did the right thing. Gives me a little faith in humanity.
Nothing wrong with having two puffer tanks, though. I plan on starting another for a Figure 8 next year.

Yea the 55 gal will be home to a single GSP. Once he gets to full marine im going to try to find a tank mate or 2. Found a good person on craigslist for live rock and live sand. Just gotta wait the 2weeks to get the tank up and running (live rock for when i go to full marine).

I just read this thread, and I'm just shocked right now... how devastating!! I'm so so sorry for your loss! It's good to hear that the company went above and beyond for you, even though it is just a small consolation. We get so attached to our fish friends!! I hope everything works out with your new gsp adventure.. they really are great fish!
