What are your parameters? Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH and SG? And your light-cycle.

These questions are so we can help you with your algae.

It's not algae, it's diatoms--normal part of the new tank cycle. Remove manually with a toothbrush & be sure to stir the substrate during water changes.

Thanks! That worked great. But now my teeth are orange..

Still trying to think of a name for my puffer... I'm bad at naming things, my cats names are Kit Kat and Buddy...

I just dropped a Ghost Shrimp into the tank and it was instantly ripped in half. He or she loves the shrimp and snails I feed him or her. I have a snail breeding tank and that's working ok. I tried to breed ghost shrimp in another tank, and that just didn't work one bit. I had some babies, but they didn't stick around long enough to have a fighting chance.

Ghost shrimp aren't easy to breed, try cherry shrimp. When you look at your puffer, what does he/she make you think of? A character, maybe, or another animal? I'm not good at naming things either, so I know how you feel, there.

And get a new toothbrush

My dp was a Mother's Day gift so I named him 13, cause I've been a mom for 13 years. The twins thought it was weird, but BJ has a betta named John Watson! All of our snakes have Bones themed names.
