Looks very healthy to me. My fahaka sometimes goes a little crazy, I just think they have to burn off a little excess energy, in our tanks they do not have the swimming space they have in the wild and they do not need to use their bodily design to hunt prey, food gets dropped right infront of them so they hardly need to work for it.

Donna_G wrote:Yeah, he looks huge in the video lol.He was at the front of the tank this morning so I got the measuring tape, he's about 3 maybe 3 1/2 inches(he freaked and swam off before I could get a good look). The shop said he was about 5-6 cm when I ordered him so he's grown a bit :D
He loves king prawns and river shrimp(gut loaded) but I've never managed to get him to eat earthworms, in the end I decided he just didn't like them
How's misery settling in? What colour sand have you got? I went for a light colour 1)cos I couldn't find any red or orange sand and 2) he's never gonna be a red one anyway lol
Here's a pic from when he'd just been delivered to me

Yours is extremely healthy lookin, thats for sure.

Misery is settling in pretty well. Not really a shy congo like others. Will even come check you out when you get in front of the tank. Btw, I bought some natural red reptile sand and added it in there. Extremely fine sand and really brings out the red out in Misery. But not a extreme red like PP's red puffer she once had but Misery is a red Congo. I say redish brown but it still listed as red..lol. Misery does tend to stalk his prey rather then bury himself and lay and wait for it to swim by. Only time he buries himself, when he sleeps. But other then that, he is pretty active and loves swimming around in the tank.

Yeah, mines pretty active too. That was the only thing that was consistant when I was researching them "doesn't really do anything"lol. Nice that he's a red colour and that's the other thing that amazes me, the variation in colour. Mine is mostly a creamy white but when I turn the light on in the morning he's pretty much black!!! They're definitely cool puffers :D

So long as your aquarium is cycled and your levels are perfect then I see no reason to worry too much or anything lol.

I had 75% black sand & 25% red gravel, to keep Punkster bright red.

Donna, they are extremely cool puffers. I been wanting one for over a year now and finally got one. Start to bury himself in the sand now and so cool watchin him finally lay and waitin for a feeder to swim by a BAM!
