I feel for you, I know how that feels. Things are a little more laid back for me since being made redundant. Now it's only 10 hours or so a day so I feel quite good lol

Really nice, you have a good eye for tank decorating.

The only reason I foresee the skimmer not being enough is once you add the sump that's your technical gallons, of course. However, it may work just fine either way because you don't have a whole lot in your tank. I would say just test and see how it goes and if your water quality is staying good, then it is enough. If it turns out you need more you could just purchase another BakPak and add it on, and use the two together.

Thank you! LoL, that is what two stick of Aquastick and three hours gave me (after the move, it was fun, but after moving the rock and the tank, I was sooo tired, hehe). It's a shame that it might not survive the upgrade =( I hope it does. Be a nice center piece for the two colums I hope to build with the dry rock I plan on buying. I decided to forgo making my own dry rock for several reasons: I would have no idea what to make after a cave like structure, and, I have to get this set up before I leave in June for 3 weeks. I want to make sure everything is going smoothly so when I leave, I have no problems. This totally slipped my mind until the bf asked me what I was going to do when we left. LoL, oops. I also joined a bay area reef forum, and they are putting up a LR/dry rock trade seminar and aquascaping class at a local college. Totally plan to check it out. I want to get some good ideas at how to make a good reef shelf ^.^

bahahahha, I am glad someone besides me is thinking about all this, because this tad bit of important information, would have totally been forgotten. Thank you, thank you thank you sooo much for pointing this out to me! You are exactly right, and I would have never put two and two together. ^.^ this is why I find forums in this hobby so important! I can't have any misteps or this won't be ready by the time I need to leave for Alabama haha. You just potentially saved me from a huge headache ^.^ I do plan on going as big as I can with the sump, so definitely looking at 100+ gallons.

Most definitely! Think if I add a CPR skimmer sump model rated for 60 gallons that that would be enough? Unfortunately, it's a huge hit to my budget, but, I want to make sure it will be ok while we are gone LoL.

Are we talking in the 90 gallon, or the 60 gallon?

90. Put a CPR rated for 60 gallons in addition to the dual pack. Gives me a total skimmer volume of "up too" 160. That was my idea, but I am not sure how right that is LOL

so whats happening with the 60?

Getting rid of it. Prolly going to put it up on CL and try to get what I paid for it back.

$160. This may include the lighting with it. I just had someone on our local reef forum just offer me a slightly used black canopy with retrofitted lighting and a ice cap ballast for super cheap. So as soon as I hear back from him, I will hopefully be selling everything. If you are interested, I'll even meet you half way :p

yeah, but i dont have the extra money right now =P and im not ready to dive into saltwater keeping just yet lol
