maybe its a bit too bright for him? what about some sort of plant/floating decor in the middle that provides some cover from the light. just enough to take care of the big open area in the front but not too much to block other plants that need it. at least maybe try it temporarily to see how the puff reacts to it

I'll get some Indian fern should subdue the lighting a bit, see how it goes. Thanks.

those look like cichlids in there......
aren't they a bit nippy?
nice plants though.. it looks like a mini of my old 210.. same stuff in there.
I'd relocate that banana plant on the right to the back left / center and place the power head there instead. That way you have a good current across the front and some nice screening to relax just behind it.

Yep I've got some apistogrammas in ther with him, never had any trouble from them, quit the opposite he seems to take chunks out of the tails when the get to close, I think ive got an aggressive SAP . Good idea on the power head placement, I'm putting it in now I'll let you guys know how he's doing tonight.

hes looking good today, seems to enjoy the new current, the star grass is getting bushier as well and hes hiding himself in there more, thanks for all the suggestions guys ill update again in a few days with some new photos. cheers Logan.
