Because the canister filter I have is for a 100 gallon tank in a 30 gallon, and the bubble wand is attatched to a large coral piece I purchased for decoration. The suction from the filter pulls in some of the air and causes the filter to make all sorts of noise while it tries to push the air back into the tank, and since this tank is in our bedroom and I am a light sleeper as it is, wakes me up many times throughout the night. So I try to turn it off at night, but I even had the wand off for a good week or so because I had to replace the tubing and never had an issue with Duma like this. Fed him again tonight, acted fine, looking fine and swimming around without any issues. So my only thought is perhaps the salt didn't mix correctly and caused some slight issues.
