Ok, thank you! =) Good to know, since I have never even seen a skimmer before LoL. I have to do it Saturday though because my tank is too close to the wall = / it needs to come out about .75 of an inch more. Looks like it's time for a decent sized water change haha.

Finally got it up and running! The tank actually wasn't as bad as I had imagined. I took about 30 gallons out of the tank and it moved really easily. Some how in the process, I lost some water, so now I need to go to the water shop and get more water. Planned to do a water change today, but I was at work waaay late last night, and they closed. So I have to do that tomorrow.

Also, can someone please link me the thread where it tells you what the salinity of the new water needs to be at to add to the old water to keep it stable? Thank you!

So after putting Yoshi back into her tank (she was in a small container while doing all of this) I noticed that her eye is a little cloudy....is Melafix OK for SW tanks? I just does normally correct?

There isw a SW Melafix. FW Melafix will make lots-o-bubbles with that skimmer.

Haha, Ok. LoL, I didn't even know that the skimmer would make tons of bubbles in the first place!!! At least I know the tank is aerated now, haha. Still no immediate foam.....Does it take a while to build up? Sorry, I have never heard of a skimmer before I started looking into SW tanks, and I have never, ever seen one, so I am still a little unsure of what to expect.

Yoshi is pacing like crazy, but her color has definitely gotten better, and looking at her eye, it looks TONS better, but I think I still will feel better if I got some SW Melafix and treated her with it.

allow 3-10 days for it to break in. also if you put your hand in the water the oils on your skin will cause it to stop foaming for a couple hours.

Oh lol. Wonder why that is. Well, my hand have been in the tank alot today, so I guess I shouldn't expect too much. Having the skimmer will help with the algae, correct? Also, if there is anything else you all can think to share, please let me know. Again my experience with a skimmer is nil, so every little bit helps. =)

The skimmer is not really for algae, it does remove some of the nutrients that algae feeds on from the water.

Always wash any lotions off your hands/arm, before placing in the tank & rinse well!

Have you considered an RO/DI unit so you don't always have to go to the store to buy water? Plus, if you have an emergency and need water it'd be bad to not have it available. The RO/DI unit would also take the nutrients out of your water that feeds algae.
