Don't be discouraged. Who knows what he went through before you got him...It sounds like you did nothing wrong.

I don't believe he was gasping or breathing heavy, but when I moved my GSP to a new bigger tank, he sat on the sand for a 2 days, then he glass danced for about a week or so.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. I'm thinking that maybe he had some other issues going on which were exacerbated by the stress of moving to a new tank. He definitely was not looking good last night, his whole face had darkened, and it looked like he "coughed" at times. I've never lost a fish.. it was very sad to see I think I will definitely try again, but I don't think I'm quite ready yet.
