The numbers look good, the tank isn't that bad for temporary, considering your situation. Just get a larger tank when you can afford it.
Do not feed them krill though, it can cause lockjaw.

... so....what should I give them on a more frequent basis? OH... i forgot to mention I've given them snails a couple of times too. Unfortunately they are the ones with the ice-cream cone shells...really really hard. but i crushed them up for them, and they managed to eat them. It's the only snail my LPS has. I am however interested in turning my 5g tank into a farm. What should I breed? My boyfriend wanted to get some non-carnivorous fish to make it look not so boring though, so I have to keep that in mind.

I switched from those malaysian trumpet snails over to pond snails and ramshorn snails.

The ramshorn snails are in a fluval edge together with some nice decorations and 5 galaxy rasboras, very small but very pretty fish. I've only seen the rasboras eat flakes, but time will tell.

As for other foods, I give my gsp blood worms and brine shrimp, though about 2/3 is bloodworms. I tried krill, mysis and black mosquito larvae as well, but the puffer doesn't eat it as readily, except for the krill but with the krill he only eats the parts he likes, but given the jawlock thing he rarely gets it. Though hopefully the pond snails, ramshorn snails and red cherry shrimp will start breeding soon at good intervals so I can give my friend a more varied diet.

alrighty... Fig's lumpyness still hasn't sorted itself out but Tsuki's eye is 99% better. I did go out and get this stuff:



Directions on the back say:
"DANIOS ANTI PARASITE has been proven works well against ectoparasites diseases such as Velvet, Costiasis, gill flukes, skin flukes, leeches, anchor worms and tape worms. It is also the best medication to prevent new fish to get diseases after long transportation. It also can be applied to discus and goldfish with darkening in coloration after transportation."

The directions are to add it to the water of the tank, but I'm scared to do it since I've read puffers are super sensitive to meds. Should I soak their food in it rather?

"For treatment: Add 1 cap (approx 5ml) per 36 litres every 24 hours till symptoms disappear. Do not use in conjunction with other meds."

Does the Organic Aqua I put in the tank count as other meds? (Here's a pic of the Organic Aqua again:)

You are correct to not want to add the medication to the water. Does that package list ingredients? It should contain praziquantel and/or metronidazole. If it does, then make a concentrated solution of it with some dechlorinated water, and some pressed/chopped garlic. Let the food soak in the food for about an hour.
If it does not contain those ingredients, take it back and find one that does. I'm not sure what brands are available to you, but look for those ingredients, it may not be advertised as an anti parasitical medication. Here are some brands if you happen to have them:
Seachem Metronidazole
API General Cure
Jungle Parasite Clear
Tetra Parasite Guard.
I don't know anything about that second product, does it list its ingredients?

IPs, look like skinny tummy. Lumpy tummy is usually food in there. try pieces of people shrimp & Earthworms.

I believe it is the cyst on the stomach that is of concern.

Unfortunately I tried seaching online for the ingredients for both products but alas...no luck. The LFS i bought them from doesn't know either. They'd have to contact their supplier to find out. I guess I should just return it anyway and get something that I know contains the correct ingredients.

I am pleased to announce, Fig's little cyst looking thing has gone. And his colouring is darker. It has been good for a couple of weeks now, I was just making sure it was gone for good before saying anything.

Honestly, I did a Steralzin medication for flukes and worms and it didn't seem to help. And I kept on watching him, changing the home up a bit and adding a couple new rocks to make a second and third cave and added java ferns and he's grown a little and his tummy is smooth. The only lumps that occur now is when he eats.
