Dawz, Not good pratices to use fish (or any living thing) as a guinea pig. Not In My Fish Tank.

Well wth was i suppose to do? use it on my piranhas and puffer withought knowing it would work or not? and then watch them die if it didnt work? sorry but id rather try it on a 79 cent fish then a 8 dollar puffer or 150 dollars worth of piranhas.....

Expanded version: Keeping FW fish in BW is poor practice, just as keeping BW fish in FW is poor practice. Either practice is stressful to the fish. Keeping schooling fish as singletons is poor practice, also stressful to the fish. NIMT/NIMFT = Not In My Tanks/Not In My Fish Tanks.

Im thinkn of gettn some more danio's like 5 more? but yea.. i mite not since its a fw fish...i dono wat im gonna do for now..

Lets see.. what could you have done...
Bought a dechlorinator that you knew would work? Maybe bought a chlorine test and tested the water to see if it worked instead of used the fish as a guinea pig? See, there are options, just have to think of them.
Wardleys is generally a good dechlor, but I don't like to use anything that does anything other than dechlorinate, personally.
As far as taking the fish back, most GOOD stores will take in healthy fish, less often for credit, but most of them will take them in. If worst comes to worst, take it in in a bucket that you don't mind loosing, ask them to take it, and if they don't, leave it on the desk and walk out. At least then the fish won't be suffering in brackish water.

I would suggest not, then instead of one fish suffering you have 6. I would suggest to try to find a new home for the danio somehow. Part of the responsibility of fish keeping is making sure the fish is happy and healthy, not just surviving. I usually avoid jumping into these discussions, but I'll make an exception this time.
I fully agree with the comments about proper care for all living creatures. If there is an option to accomplish a task such as this w/o stressing a living creature, then that is the option that I would use and recommend to others. I would never buy a fish that I did not intend to offer a permanent and proper home for, or one that I could not return to the store or give to a caring friend/neighbor.
That said, let's say that I somehow ended up with a FW fish that I could not care for and could not give away or sell. Would I place it in a BW or SW tank? Not unless I knew that it would immediately become food for another fish and that it would die a quick and relatively painless death. This is nature and fish do eat other fish. However, there would be no big fish being torn apart bit by bit by a slightly larger and more agressive fish, no fish slowly withering away due to improper water type, and no pain inflicted that can otherwise be avoided. Failing those options, I would opt for a bath in clove oil strong enough to put the fish to sleep humanely and permanently.
