I agree, I just can't believe his condition has improved so much without any help of antibiotics!
Clean water is definitely one of the biggest factors for fish. Without clean water their immune system doesn't function properly, and when that happens, they can't heal properly either. You're doing a good job with this.
How big are your puffers?
