Are these bumps those nematodes that are found in the flesh? If you leave them they die, if you kill them the fish still dies.

I hope that's all it is, but the erratic swimming sounds more like that other mysterious ailment.
I just read RTR's thread about his mbu with nematodes, but unless I missed it, there wasn't anything about lopsided swimming

I soak all of his food in vitachem. I will try the Epsom salt. How long and how often should it be added?

No apologies necessary. I am just glad there are people here who are willing to help. I consider myself to be a rather seasoned hobbyist but I always find when I talk to other hobbyists about certain ailments or situations that the "two heads are better than one" saying really holds true. Thanks for all the help guys. I will update everyone on his progress in the next couple days.

Well it's a good variety for certain, and Vitachem is also great.
I don't know if adding vitamins can fully counter foods rich in thiaminase.

How long has the tank been up and running and was it cycled correctly, your reading of 20 nitrates is worrying. Ammonia, Nitrates should be 0 and nitrites should be >10

He did say nitrates were less than 20, but a water change would still be nice.

I think you got your nitrites and nitrates mixed up xray
