Completely agree with what you guys are saying. I mean granted they do have feelings and granted Gilbert changed with his attitude. I am an inexperienced fish keeper. If you don't remember why I got on here was because my buddy couldn't afford to keep the fish and I could so I took over his tank. Didn't know crap about puffer and their attitudes up until a few weeks go when I joined. My LFS does not take fish so until someone responds to my CL post they are still swimming food reserves unless you have an idea on where I can take them.

If you listened in the first place you wouldnt have dead fish. I have certain fish in with mine but he is mature and is ok with them . Juvis will kill all in sight. I am not saying the others will not be food in the future but the longer they stay the better the chances. We all make mistakes, learn from them. If my fahaka ever seems to take an interest i will move them, Not ideal but he shows no interest even tho he could easily catch them i think. I would not ever recommend housing other fish with a fahaka, just occasionally you get one who will obide (not like ) tankmates,,,,,, for now

Well he shows no aggression towards other fish! It is just at night when he attacks when I don't see it. Like I had said I will be moving them ASAP. Same with Gilberts new tank, once I find one large enough for him that doesn't look like complete crap I will go buy it in a heart beat.

We all make mistakes. Just do the best you can with what you have learned.

Not wanting to sound too harsh. But until then? More death? The best plan is to have a backup plan. Especially when warned. Moving forward move him to an appropriate tank asap.

Yeah I know I understand the fact that he needs a tank, but I had a 225g lined up for him but the seals failed 3 times after they resealed it 3 times...but I am constantly looking for one. I either see people that say its 200g and its like a 55 or 90g. But I am looking for one in the range of 175ish to 255g because it would fit my wall perfect!

This does suck. maybe buy a 100g or so to give you a while till a 200ish gall is available? Not ideal but is better.

Well I could put him in the 55g temporarily but that would mean going and buying a larger filter and such. The one I have is a canister filter rated for a 80gal I believe sooo I mean I am thinking whats easiest on my wallet. Its not like I am keeping him in there forever its just temp until I find a tank big enough.
Try looking on CL in your area and see how many 200gal tanks you find. They are not popular. I can get one made by a acrylic company in my area but they want like 2,000 since its "special order" or some bologna like that.
I did find 180 gal but it it isn't wide enough.

I am fom a different country 5X2X2 tanks here are like £50 second hand. So easy to buy more gtanks than you need. 55g is not gonna help, 100g + is essential. Get the biggest you can afford and upgrade quick or your awesome fahaka will be stunted.

Well its a bigger tank for the time being that is what I am saying. He is still under 2inches or 20cm.
And by stunned you mean he wont grow any larger?

A stunted fish may suffer many health issues in later life.

Stunting isn't as simple as just not getting larger, as Bertie said, it causes health problems. Some if the results of stunting could be fatal, but not only tank size contributes to stunting. Water quality, diet, stress and illness can also adversely effect their development.
Get the largest tank you can afford keeping in mind that your fish can reach 18"
I know the fish was given to you in its current set up, so best of luck in finding a more suitable home asap.
Try to find a local fish forum, join and see if someone would adopt those fish you have.You might also find someone selling a tank.
