Yeah he seems to eat like 3/4 of them then the algae eater gets up on that and eats it! 
it is quite funny!
But he gets after those meal worms!
I am done with those blood worms he can eat the clams I have lol I didn't spend 7.99 on them for him not to eat them:P hes like a 2 year old lol
