My turg always have a white belly when its resting. It turns light yellow when its hunting or looking for food or when its actively swimming around my tank. And when its frightened or really stressed, spots show up all over its belly and all of its patterns on its back becomes really distinct. My turg also swims around the tank looking for snails and food. Sometimes I see him swimming up and down the tank glass, which I didn't expect from a lurker puffer.

All puffers come in slight difference in color, patterns, and personality.

He always has spots on his belly. They are dark gray...the background color is light gray. It's just hard finding any good pics of them. Most of the pics I find they are laying on something so it's hard to see the belly. I'm going to deworming him as soon as I can get him on dead food.

Wow!!! That was easier than I thought! He just ate a bunch of mussel meat!!! Went right for it...has a nice round belly. I'll probably start worming him this weekend. Now if I could only get Bevo on dead food. He hasn't eaten in two days now...starting to worry me. I'm thinking that maybe he has been eating his shrimp that I put in his tank a few days ago.

I assume you have read the Library article on doing this?

My turgidis would go from a spotted belly to a cream-colored one. Keep an eye on the parameters for a while.

Oh yeah, I've read it. Took me awhile, and a little starving but I got my first Congo P-nut on dead food rather easily.
