oh last night i took out the knife fish . WELL he is ripping around so i think he does not like tank mates at all they stress him out . and for know i think the 180 big enough then im ordering a tencore tank that is 6x3x2 . then ill see if i upgrade after that .

that's was in 2009 i never even had a mbu then and had no clue. to me what i wrote was very stupid to start of for a year our so i think it would be fine

guys letts look forward..... so without shouting when u getting the 1000gal that this fissh needs to live in. we recently had a post from someone whos 27" mbu died in an accident when his tank emptied itself.............yes 27" what a beast, bet it was still a juvi aswell with their growth rate in suitable housing

That's 27" WITH the crooked spine it suffered due to his previous owner keeping him in a 62" x 18" x 18" tank.

18x18 for a a mbu is a little retarded i would say

i read that when it comes to housing a puffer, the tank should be 2x as high and deep as the actual fishor stunting is likely. Sound accurate?

I have had a T. mbu, and it was my favorite all-time fish - out of over 50 years of multi-tank fish-keeping. it was also my wife's favorite fish.

I believe that set the 1000 gallon minimum tank size, but i would never keep such a fish in so limited a tank again. If I were to keep another, it would be in a 5000 gallon or larger mega-tank. But 1) I cannot afford to do it right, so I will not do it at all, and 2) I am too old - the fish might outlive me and I could not guarantee its care beyond that.

These are huge and personable fish. Mine was puppyish throughout its life.

RTR ill take it if it outlived you, promise to take care of it lol
