Well, they were thinking that they are a male/female pair and are approx 4-5 inches. The one in the inset picture is the male and he's the smaller of the two. The only catch is the price, close to $250 for the pair, but seriously worth it. The stripe pattern is real crisp with very clean demarcation of the off white/black colors. They look to be very healthy and the shells don't look to have any real anomalies.

Be aware that Lysiosquillina maculata is among the largest or possibly THE largest mantis shrimps species reaching easily over an foot and requiring large quarters. They probably are a pair and this species lives in pairs , otherwise one would likely be dead by now. For proper care they need a DSB (can reach ages up to 3 decades)! The female will mostly stay in the cave they dig and the male will hunt and feed the female.

Can't afford that. Just spoke to my LFS & they have another Peacock for me for $50.
