Not sure what the deal is but she is at least swimming around a little this morning.

If she is not an Abei Puffer then let me know what she is because I am lost

I see more similarity with M. cochinchinensis. As Troender noted the snout seems too short for an abei in general. M. abei depending on mood shows different colorations, one is dark with silver spots (silverish as the ones on the pics appear), one is rather bright with red spots (the most often observed color, "normal" mood I guess).

Does this puffer ever have red spots?

The pictures are quite bright with high color saturation, but my first vote is for M. cochinchinensis.

She gets dark spots every now and then when stressed thats about it. Otherwise she looks like she does in the pictures 99% of the time.

The earthworms are just normal worms you can get from the fishing section of walmart or any fishing shop.

Alos you need more cover in there. My guess is that your Abei isnt comfortable due to lack of cover. Need some sort of cave and a lot more plants

I had a mangrove root in there but when i took it out to clean it the paint started coming off so i purchased a skull to go in there.
It looks funny with her sitting inside it..
She is happy and swimming now. I am buying some bulbs so i can get some plants to grown is the plan.
The tree plants in there right now are only temp till the I get the others.
Not sure which plants would be best to get any suggestions.
Oh the earthworms rock they get buried in the sand and then when they pop up Sunny snatchs them.
so they live about 24hours in the tank

Yeah she eats 1 or 2 then she is done. I leave a third one in there just for a few hours then pull it if she doesnt eat.

She has gotten so much better of the last 2 days. I figured out I can turn the over hear lights on around the tank and she will come out and swim in the tank.
The tank light whatever stock bulb must be to much for her. So dim lights lots of water flow and a couple worms she is good to go.

Hey can you guys suggest any good plants that will grow quickly and be ok for the puffer? Kinda thinking I want to go live plants instead of fake. What are your thoughts on this?

My Figure 8s totally turned their snooty little noses up at clams on the half shell. I'm glad to hear there are puffers out there who love them!
