cool you seem to have it sussed just check then double check then - etc they are very sensitive if you have a hardy fish which can then be moved to another tank then awesome i always run for bout 3 months before adding these guys just to be safe maybe excessive but i play safe.

With a filter you don't need to aerate. The filter will do it all. You should aim for 6-10x turnover.

prob not essential but personally i add a airstone as they seem to enjoy bubbles (not disagreeing with flutter but mine love bubbles)

Being over cautious is probably a good thing.
Oh right, so my filter will do all the aerating? even if i baffle it?
well if i have any spare cash and think some bubbles might be nice i'll get a small pump for fun.

Shouldn't take that long if your're fishless cycling. 2 articles on that in our Library.

Thanks. I've printed out the article on fishless cycling and plan to start it as soon as i get my tank filled. I also made an order for some plants and driftwood online tonight. I love this part
