So how easy is he able to eat those? My fahaka is about 1/2 foot smaller then yours and thought about feeding mine some smaller apple snails because I can get them cheap in lfs' around here.

At least my Otos made it for a week. Did you ever tried a BIG placo with him?

I did have a 10-12 inch pleco with him. Bloat was pissed, didnt really move the week I had it in there. And all the Pleco did was poop and destroy my tank, plus at that size they dont do much algae eating anymore from what ive been told
For algae control in his tank I just tossed in a bunch of small snails that he tends to ignore till the grow and also tossed in some ghost shrimp which tend to hide all day and when they do come out he doesnt bother them.

Cool THX
I did tried Cherry shrimp but he hunted them down. Local Dealer sold 40 quarter inch Cherry Shrimp for $20.
Edit - yeah true with the Placo not doing much when they are BIG

I think the size and the fact they are seethrou help ghosts to survive, ive seen Bloat and the ghosts share a meal

Any shrimp I put in last seconds also I heard that ottos were a possibility put 4 in erm he had a good meal, will crunch big snails with ease. One more thing the Pleco question I tried this when my lineatus was about 4 inches and the plectrum was about 10 inches the pleco was having chuncks bitten out of it's Back not the friendship I hoped for lol
