That PVC pipe has snail eggs inside it. So I'm leaving it until they hatch.

Update:
The hair algae is completely gone. It left black stuff where the roots were on the wood. Between the fertilizer dosing, flourish excel, and flying fox fish, the green hair algae is gone now. Plants are growing like crazy. I gave many surface plants to my LFS because they were blocking light to the floor of the tank.
