They have longer snouts than your puffer.

I just read it, I'll get my tank squared away first thing in the morning. Thank you for the help, this is a big relief for me. by the by, I have several wisteria shoots and a potted tall hairgrass coming in on wednesday to help with hiding spots. right now its just a half log with some holes.

Its also in a 10g tank for now with a hob filter rated for 45g with a custom inside setup using purigen (which i have had extremely good luck with) carbon and fine filter floss. 0 ammonia, nitrates and nitrites too. the PH is at about 7

Hi ForgSplash. How was your tank cylced?? You should be getting some nitrate reading. Upgrade tank size coming soon I hope.

The tank was cycled using used ceramic rings from the 40g breeder tank after switching it to the purigen. After the cycle was completed I then switched the 10g to the purigen.

And once i complete the upgrade of the 40g to the 120g, i'll have the 40 breeder for the puffer...or a congo and i'll get a 29ish corner tank for this one

I'll make sure to do readings again tomorrow. i have been wanting to get a new testing kit too that measures hardness and phosphates and such

i could not find anything in the p.pedia

makes perfect sense to me

If the forum would get the permission from the members linked to above (Sean, blondenblue, English George) we could add this species to the pufferpedia... As these three examples show it is available at least sometimes... even if it was available only in the UK or Asia, it's an international forum after all.

Unfortunately, those folks haven't posted here in quite some time.

What would the best snails to use be? ramshorn, trumpet snails, apple snails or pond snails? or does it really depend on the tank and puffer in question

i could be wrong, but I think trumpet snails are too hard?

Ramshorn or pond snails would be best.

Did you get your Puffer from OC Tropical Fish?
