I remember when I was a kid in Mississippi seeing the crawdads in the stream... never could catch them, though. I was always afraid theyd pinch me real good with their claws, like crabs do. Had fun going after tadpoles of course. I tried some crawdads, dont know if Im keen on eating them XD but they are like mini-lobsters. I wouldnt mind getting one for a tank sometime.greenspottedlover wrote:well now there is only about 1 foot of snow and patches of dirt, plus 2-3 foot snow banks. Plan to go to the lake this weekend to see how its melting. May be able to go crawfishing this weekend.

The ones I've kept weren't from a stream, but from a lake though I assume care is the same. I kept mine in a dark well filter aquarium with plenty of hiding spots, mine lived in a cold lake so I added ice to the water. Great way to keep them until ready to eat(me not puffer)fugu99 wrote:I remember when I was a kid in Mississippi seeing the crawdads in the stream... never could catch them, though.
